The Metropolitan Global is a Citizens' Jury.
It is a simple system that allows ordinary people to take responsibility together.
Members propose real local problems, discuss them respectfully, vote twice a month, and then act on the winning decision in public. We've started this project in Western Maine, believing proof has to be real before the project grows.
We believe the habit of outsourcing every problem to institutions has made communities weaker. When ordinary people deliberate, decide, and follow through together - even in small ways - responsibility becomes possible again. That is the work.
