Bill of Responsibilities
In order for us to function properly as a collaborative group, we need some structure. If there were no organization, there would be chaos, and nothing would get done, but too much structure would alienate a lot of people, and we wouldn’t want that. The goal of these rules is to create the right environment for the most amount of people to be able to work together to make positive changes for everyone in our communities. These are the rules we have put to place towards that end:
- Members will pay a dollar a month into "The Public Trust."
- Members will participate in the voting process, the 1st vote occurring by the 15th of every month and the 2nd vote by the end of the month. The 1st vote will decide where we spend our combined funds, and the 2nd vote will decide how we spend our money towards our first votes objectives. This cycle repeats every month.
- Everyone’s invited! No exceptions.
- Members are encouraged to onboard at least two people into Our Community.
- We all must try... and get along. If you can't, be civil.
- The discussion forum is for sponsoring and debating ideas, to solve problems, and the proper implementation thereof. Not for trolling. There are already sites for that. Let's act like adults.
- We are here to solve problems, not people. We must always see the individual as a value in themselves and not merely a means to an end. There will be no scapegoats.
- We can't do anything illegal, immoral, or just plain "Not cool". All the actions we take must be clearly positive, with no murky gray areas.
- The Metropolitan Global must be as transparent as is reasonable and possible.
- All profits after operating expenses are covered will go into the public trust.
These rules are a work in progress. While we may add some or edit the old ones, no company bylaw can violate the spirit of the mission for which they were created in the first place. We are here to help each other, in the spirit of universal friendship. It doesn’t matter what the law says, if the law is crap. Do the right thing.
