December's Verdict

“Family and friends weren’t enough for us this year, so we decided to spread some love around town! The question then became how we take a small amount of money, and turn it into maximum holiday cheer?”
“Thanks for tuning in. I’m Dounia Mousa and this is the Metropolitan Global.”
“Last month we voted to spend the Public Trust, our common fund, to buy some gifts for people who had to work during the holiday.”
“After deciding on our monthly goal, we then had to deliberate how to take a small pot and turn it into something substantive to pass around and hopefully spread some happiness to people at work.”
“We ended up assembling about 10 big stockings, 30 little stockings, 10 Pint Glasses filled with goodies, and some homemade peanut butter blossoms to pass out on Christmas.”
“We started in Bethel. We played Santa at a local resort, leaving surprises for the downtrodden servers and cooks who had to feed the ravenous crowds come morning.”
“We then started our way down route 2, but must have started too late! Nothing was open but the gas stations. Even McDonalds was closed, which, good on them! So we decided to start fresh in the morning.”
“The Rumford ER was a bit surprised to see us, as were the Dunkin employees as we ordered our morning coffee in the drive thru. There was slight hesitation, as they didn’t know what was happening, but we were gladdened to drive away to the symphony of happy shrieks.”
“We made our way down through Paris, hitting every Irving and Dunkin we saw working. And man, were they busy. You could tell the poor things were miserable but still held up good spirits.”
“We finally ended Santa’s run at St Stephens ER, to wrap up our holiday sleigh ride.”
“After consulting with experts (Picture of Santa and his Elves) we speculate that the Christmas Cheer in these people’s lives nearly quadrupled for the day, on average, with a few outliers.”
“And while this might not have made a significant change for our community, it did make a significant difference in the moods of the people working to keep our holidays going, and for that, we’re grateful.”
“But holiday stockings aren’t the end of the story, It’s just the beginning. We are always looking for cool and epic ways to help our community, so if you have any bright ideas for what we can do next, let us know by leaving a comment below. And don’t forget to like, share and subscribe.”
“Thanks for watching, and we’ll see you soon!
